Abstract<\/strong>:\u00a0The article analyzes the agentive surnames of the Rivne region (Rivne region of Ukraine), derived from the names of people in the production sphere of human activity from the standpoint of clarifying their genetic origins and the most probable ways of creation. The classification of proper personal names according to the semantics of the creative bases in lexical-semantic subgroups is used, the optimality of which is proven by the coverage of the study of the majority of selected anthroponyms. It is substantiated by examples that the lexical bases of a significant part of the analyzed surnames essentially accumulate the mental Ukrainian features of economy, the need for labor activity, social responsibility and activity, and are also correlated with the typical occupations of our people – metalworking, wood, leather, weaving and sewing clothes, food production, agricultural production, construction and ceramic production, etc. The formation of most agentive surnames is proven by semantic rethinking of characteristic common personal names, attested in explanatory dictionaries, or by morphological, mainly suffixal, method. Some derivative surnames are considered as formations with double motivation. Agentive vocabulary is presented in surnames in historical development. It is noted that some ancient names of performers of actions are now removed from active circulation due to the loss of relevance of the corresponding type of activity, profession or craft, but the mention of them remained in surnames. Attention is paid to the influence of regional colloquial vocabulary and foreign language factors on the formation of the surname system, examples of single names, parallel use of different graphic forms of writing some surnames are given. The prospects for the formation of new surnames are associated with the development of modern vocabulary, correlated with popular types of human activity and new professions.<\/p>\n
