Abstract:<\/strong> The article deals with the main stages of the formation of the Ukrainian dialectal lexicography as a separate linguistic sphere and the history of working out the methodology of the dialectal dictionary composition. The types of dialectal dictionaries (differential, general, thematic, dialectal-ethnographic, etc.) are distinguished. The method of the ideographic dialectal dictionary forming on the material of M.V. Nykonchuk\u2019s works is described. On the example of dialectal dictionaries of different types, the completeness of the dialectal material representation in lexicographic works is demonstrated. The activization of the Ukrainian dialectal lexicography at the beginning of the XXI century is established. The main problems connected with the process of the dialectal dictionary composition are outlined. The author notes that the forming of complete or consolidated (traditional paper and electronic) dictionary of the Ukrainian dialects with the maximum of linguistic information and detailed illustrations is a necessary and perspective task of the Ukrainian dialectologists.<\/p>\n
