Tómchenko, in diachronic aspect studied Church Slavonic vocabulary root æè(æèâ). It is found that in the registry called the lexicon includes more than twenty different wordforming structure of Church Slavonic to this root. The main focus is on the etymological analysis of the studied words, which was primarily in clarifying their semantic etymon.

Found that some old Church Slavonic lexemes arose as semantic calques from Greek words.

It has been observed that in single words, as a result of the emergence of new values, the basic values were relegated to the dialectal periphery. The polysemantic lexeme life has become the main one that means biological existence. Words with the indicated root have a long history in the written language—mostly from the XI century.

It is revealed that the individual lexemes studied often act as the core components of different twomembered or threemembered stable and lexicalized phrases of the Ukrainian language of the 16th—17th centuries.

It is established that the historical fate of the analyzed words is not the same. Part of Church Slavonicism has survived to this day in the modern Ukrainian literary language or in its speeches.

Some words function in modern liturgical practice. It is established that the historical destiny of the analysed words are not the same. Part Church Slavonicism preserved until now in the modern Ukrainian literary language or its dialects. Some words function in a modern liturgical practice.

Keywords: historical dictionary, written memo, semantics, phrase, Church Slavonicism.

REFERENCES

The Acathist of Our Lady is the sovereign of the world, who covers us from the wiles of evil spirits and men.
