Abstract: The article explores the life path and scholarly career of Mariia Yakivna Pliushch, a renowned Ukrainian linguist, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, and long-standing Head of the Department of the Ukrainian Language, Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism named after Andrii Malyshko, Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University.

It outlines the principal directions of her academic interests and her substantial contribution to the development of the theory of word formation, case grammar, the syntax of the modern Ukrainian language, language didactics, and stylistics. The study characterises the research school founded by Mariia Yakivna Pliushch, as well as her activities as an academic supervisor, educator, and methodologist. The article has been written on the occasion of the 100th anniversary and serves to honour the researcher’s scientific legacy.
