ANTI-PLAGIA POLICY

The author who submitted an article for publication in the journal “Ukrainian language” guarantees that he wrote it personally, has not previously published it anywhere and has prepared it specifically for this edition.

Plagiarism cannot be submitted as an original research or a previously unpublished article. In case of detection of the above prohibitions, the author of the submitted manuscript will be responsible.

Academic plagiarism is the publication (partial or full) of scientific (creative) results obtained by other persons as the results of one’s own research (creativity) and/or reproduction of published texts (published works of art) of other authors without indicating authorship (Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”).

Self-plagiarism is the publication (partial or full) of one’s own, previously published scientific results as new, without indicating their previous publication.

Duplication of a publication is the reuse by the author of large parts of his previous publications without a clear reference to them.

Forms of plagiarism include:
use (literal citation) of any materials in any volume without indicating the source;
use of borrowed images, drawings, photographs, tables, graphs, schemes or any other forms of graphic representation of information without indicating the source;
use without written permission of materials whose authors or copyright holders prohibit the use of their materials without special agreement.

All forms of incorrect borrowing (lack of graphic highlighting of the literally quoted text in the presence of references to the source; incorrect reference to the source or incomplete composition of its bibliographical description, which prevents their identification; reference to a source other than the first source of the borrowed text; absence of references in the text to sources given in the article list; excessive citation, the volume of which is not justified by the genre and purpose of the article) are analyzed individually.

The journal editorial board must check the submitted manuscript for similarity to other works. Any manuscript that has obvious signs of plagiarism is rejected. The volume of borrowed text in the article should not exceed 15 %, and the author’s self-citations should not exceed 10–12 %.

If proven plagiarism is found in the submitted manuscript, its author is deprived of the right to publish his research in all subsequent issues of the journal.

If proven plagiarism is found in an article that has already been published, its author is deprived of the right to publish his research in all subsequent issues of the journal, and the text itself is removed from the archive of the official website of the publication and from other places of public placement, for which the editorial board of the journal “Ukrainian language” is responsible.
