Abstract: The article examines the linguistic mechanisms of narrativization and discursive justification of Russian aggression in the speech delivered by the representative of the Russian Federation at the United Nations Security Council meeting on 25 February 2022. The main strategic narratives are identified, along with the actor roles and cognitive frames that structure the representation of events. The linguistic markers through which strategic narratives are realized and their pragmatic functions are determined. The study demonstrates how the interaction of these linguistic means contributes to the discursive justification of Russian aggression.

Keywords: diplomatic discourse, narrative, strategic narrative, narrativization, lingual mechanisms, lingual markers, discursive-manipulative legitimation, discursive justification, Russian aggression.
