Abstract: The article is devoted to stylistic analysis of texts of Shevchenko’s letters.
Language of Shevchenko’s letters was the research object of specialists in literature, linguists (S. Yefremov, P. Tymoshenko, V. Rusanivsky, J. Lyakhova, M. Kotsyubynska). Specialists in literature celebrate the style diversity, aesthetic nature of epistolary texts; for linguists there are important linguistic and structural features – lexical and phraseological, syntactic, spelling and phonetical. Conclusions about literary normativity, particularly spelling, of Shevchenko’s letters can be done carefully and with certain reservations, but the value of texts of Shevchenko’s letters for the formation of epistolary style is undeniable.
Letters of Shevchenko are an important source for study of emotional and expressive potential of the Ukrainian language, originally transformed into individual author’s epistolary style.
The attention is focused on oral speaking expressive means as a dominant sign of epistolary communication of the author. Organic mood of Shevchenko on the form of a letter-conversation motivates distinct stylistic functions of text’s deployment. In structural and linguistic structure of letters-conversations (lexical-structural, phraseological, syntax, text-semantic components) signs of emotional intelligence, sensual dominant of lingual thinking of author are showed.
The method of combining of semantic reasons (motive of native language, yearning for homeland, sincerity attitude to recipients, etc.) with the expressive means, identified in the studied spoken texts, is proposed. Integral sign of letters-conversations are also stylistic markers of poetic lingual thinking it promotes for aesthetization of spoken elements.
Keywords: Shevchenko’s correspondence, letters-conversations, spoken expressive means, emotional intelligence, poetic lingual thinking.
