Abstract: Actualization of conjunctions is one of powerful tendencies of progress and updating of the system of conjunctions of Ukrainian literary language of the beginning of XXI century. It takes place in two directions: 1) reactualization of conjunctions – a return after the long interval from the passive fund of Ukrainian conjunctions ба навіть, буцім, буцімто, одначе, позаяк, себто, цебто, сиріч, that present the morphology-syntactic specific of Ukrainian and were limited in usage at soviet time; 2) activation of the use in the different functionally-stylistic spheres conjunctions аби, щоби, оскільки, адже, та, що… то in connection with aspiration of speaking to renew and diversify traditional expressive means.

All actualizational conjunctions certify expansion of their functionally-stylistic spheres of the usage: if at a soviet period they were used mainly in the language of fiction, then at the beginning of ХХІ of century conjunctions буцім, буцімто, сиріч, except artistic style, actively use also in a journalism (foremost in Media), conjunctions одначе, позаяк, себто, цебто, щоби, що… то – in publicist and a scientific texts, conjunctions аби, та without any limitations function in all styles of the modern Ukrainian literary language, and conjunctions оскільки and адже, opposite, from scientific and officially-business styles get to the publicist and in artistic texts. Conjunctions ба навіть, буцім, буцімто, одначе, сиріч, щоби, even extending the spheres of functioning, keep features of stylistically marking units, while conjunctions аби, оскільки, та acquired status stylistically neutral means of relation, and conjunctions позаяк, себто, цебто, адже and що… то manifest a tendency to transformation on conjunctions of interstylistic character.

Keywords: actualization, activation, conjunctions, publicistic style, scientific style, artistic style.
