Language analysis hetman’s universals of Ivan Mazepa

Abstract: The article is devoted to the found in the book “Acts of the Poltava regimental court of 1668 – 1740 years” to universals of Hetman Ivan Mazepa, sent to the elders of the Poltava city administration. The structure of universals and features of stylistics of the studied documents are described. The state of the language system, which combines the origins of modern business style and live spoken language, was characterized. The linguistic characteristics of different lexical groups are given, the variability of the morphemic structure of words and the phonetic and graphic features of the texts studied are traced.

Keywords: the old Ukrainian language, official-business style, the variation of forms.
